Cradle of the Night

*Gavir waits a moment, looking at the females, then back at Geo.*

Gavir: Well, i haven't had much contact with her as well. And why are those females watching us?

*Gavir lowers her head, showing that she clearly is uncomfortable.*

*Geo snorted lightly as he lies down, getting comfortable. He looks up at the females as they pant and wag their tails, looking down at Gavir. Geo chuckles lightly.*

Geo: Its not my choice to have a nest. I made it myself since the cavern floor is too rough for me to lay on.

*Geo flicks his ears as he looked into her eyes with his white lifeless eyes.*

Geo: How is Abigail? I haven't seen her s- ... well for awhile.

*The females looked at each other with their ears pinned when Geo nearly mentions the incident.*

*Gavir walked into the cavern, looking around and sitting down.*

Gavir: I've never really been in a cavern besides Abigail's before. This cavern seems nice. I'm wondering something though, why do you have a nest of your own? Isn't that something that females tend to do?

*Gavir giggled, looking at Geo with her deep purple eyes.*

*Geo perked his ears and smiled lightly.*

Geo: Ah, Abigail. What a delightful creature she is. She raised you? Hm.

*Geo was impressed that Abigail would raise a dragon. She never raised a newborn outside their species so it surprised him. They reached the caverns as the females trot inside where there were rock ledges for them to lay on as Geo laid in a next on the ground in comfort. Geo sat in the nest and looked at Gavir.*

Geo: Here we are. Home sweet home.

*Geo says with a smile.*

*Gavir looked at Geo, still trying to smile.*

Gavir: I believe her name was Abigail. She was kind to me, so you can see how i turned out similarly.

*Gavir's tail stopped moving as she stepped about one foot closer to Geo.*

*Geo twitched his ear when she says 'Arctic Draconus.'*

Geo: Raised by one of my kind you say? Whats their name?

*Geo asks calmly, curious to who it was, even though he did have some sort of an idea of who it might be.*

*Gavir smiled happily, following Geo quickly. Her ears twitched as she heard the question.*

Gavir: Oh, uhm...Well, i was born in the fields over there, but i actually was raised by an arctic draconus.

*Gavir's ears flatten as she mentioned her birth.*

*Geo nodded lightly.*

Geo: Yes, indeed you can join us.

*Geo turned towards the forest and began to walk down the hill where a dirt path has been made to get to their cavern. As he walks along the path behind the many females, he focuses on their little journey with his ears perked. He huffs lightly.*

Geo: Where are you from?

*Geo asks abruptly from the silence.*

*Gavir perked her ears, looking at the sunset as well.*

Gavir: Indeed, i heard about creatures that stalk the night. Hey, can i come visit the place where the pack is staying? I'd love to be able to talk more. And don't worry about me getting lost in the night, i can fly back to the village here if i wanted to.

*Gavir smiled happily, unknown to her that Geo noticed her tail swaying quickly.*

*Geo bowed towards Gavir, in honor of her privacy.*

Geo: It's okay, Gavir. You don't need to tell me.

*Geo sighed deeply, as he looked around.*

Geo: It's sunset, we must get back before night comes. The Muthropes tend to wander around this area so best be careful.

*Gavir perked her ears, hearing him saying he has been alone.*

Gavir: You're a kind person, you chose to help these females find someone to be happy with... I wish i could be someone that could do something like that...

*Gavir frowns, remembering not long ago what happened to her sister.*

Gavir: Nevermind, i don't want to waste your time with stories of my past...

*Geo chuckles lightly as the females sit behind him.*

Geo: I know what you meant, dear. I do not care for any mate right now. All I want is to make sure my pack is safe with their mates. I have been alone for years, I am used to it.

*Geo says with a warming grin.*

*Gavir noticed the small number of females walking towards them, but looked back at Geo with a smile, then tilted her head.*

Gavir: I take it that also means you're looking for a mate as well?

*Gavir realized what she was saying only afterwards, lowering her ears in embarassment.*

Gavir: N-not that i was implying anything!

*Geo stood, shaking himself off as his ears hit the side of his antlers. His tail perks up like a deer's tail and looked at Gavir contently.*

Geo: That sounds lovely, but we don't accept food from others. We hunt ourselves especially for the young. And of course, we won't be around much anyways since your species stepped onto this land.

*Geo looked back at the females, their heads peeped through the bushes, there was 5 of them.*

Geo: It is also mating season for them. They will be gone soon to find the male pack so we could conjoin once again.

*Geo thought over Gavir's request to meet them, but since he is the Alpha, he knows they will be safe in case of a fight.*

Geo: Of course.

*Geo motioned the females to come forth, watching them slowly walk up the hill towards him with their backs hunched in a protected state.*

*Gavir listened with good intent, smiling when Geo mentioned a pack. Her tail curled closer to her body as it continued moving.*

Gavir: Actually, we could give you a good part of our food if you're in famine. We don't hunt in the forest much, we use our tails to spear fish. And it's alright for any of your kind to visit us if they want, for any reason at all. The only thing we ask is that you leave the nests undisturbed, as the mating season for most of the females here is getting closer.

*Gavir motioned towards the female Atonus constructing nests inside their small lean-to shelters.*

Gavir: Would you mind taking me to your pack? I'd like to meet them, if that's alright.

*Geo was too focused on what was happening around his land on the other side of the river. He didn't mind them moving onto the field, but it did intercept with their hunting grounds for food. Geo looked back at Gavir.*

Geo: The lining of the trees of this field and the far side of the river for about a square mile is my land for my pack. I came to scope out the field for the females so they could hunt safely but I see that we will have to find new grounds.

*Geo didn't sound unhappy. He was rather calmed by the sense of seeing new comers nearby. He was impressed by Gavir's attitude and especially his. Geo looked back to where the forest was where the pack of females laid low until it was safe, then turned back to Gavir.*

*Gavir flicked one ear for a moment, not expecting just one word from the new visitor.*

Gavir: Well, may i ask what brings you here, Geo? You're actually our first visitor.

*Gavir kept a smile, wanting to make a good impression. Her tail began moving slightly faster after speaking.*

*Geo swooped his ear, brushing his large antlers, in Gavir's direction. He looked over at her and sniffed lightly in her path. Geo was unaware of where he was when he noticed the unidentified creatures building their settlement not far from his pack. He speaks in a low, deep tone.*

Geo: Geo.

*Gavir quickly walked past her brother, walking calmly to Geo. She stopped about 20 feet infront of him, smiling happily, as it was their first visitor.*

Gavir: Well, hello there. Welcome to our village, I'm Gavir, the leader of these people. May i ask who you are?

*Gavir sat down, her tail slowly drifting from side to side.*

*Geo stopped at the top of a small hill and perked his ears, looking around with high alert. He snorted a bit as his thick structured body stood tall; pawing at the dirt, he sits and watches the Atonus' from afar build in the field. Geo smiled lightly as the wind softly blew through his mane along with the sweet smell of trees budding as Spring decided to show.*

*Emilios looked toward Geo, noticing the Draconus. He nudged Gavir and pointed, Gavir grinned.*

Gavir: Let's see if he's....friendly.

*Geo huffed, as he stood tall with his chest stuck out like a proud stag. His ears twitched as he slowly walked in the Atonus' direction without notice. ( Hes an Arctic Draconus btw. ) Geo's horns shaped high up and branched off in many places like antlers. He swayed his small tail from side to side as he walked closer. Geo was missing an eye from a battle he went through as a large, deep scar crossed over where his eye used to be.*

*Gavir stood on a hill, her scales shining proudly as the Atonus were getting together, making small shelters in the fields.*

Gavir: It's good to see our people working together again after so long...

*Emilios, Gavir's brother, stepped out behind her.*

Emilios: Well, it's natural for our people to work together, sister.

Gavir: I guess you're right.
